Temporary Rules - Will be removed later

PostPosted by Prixy » December 5th, 2014, 11:39 am

This is a temporary FAQ and rules post. Shouldn't need to say any more than that. :)

Rules:

~ Be Respectful
No flaming, trolling, or spamming users. Warnings will be given upon discovery of such offense.
- Language
We understand that foul language isn't death on your computer screen, so there is no profanity filter here on the Ponymon forum. However, using such language incessantly will not be tolerated. Using racist or derogatory terms will NOT be tolerated, however. Again, be respectful to the community and it's members.

~ Warnings and Bans
Those who do not follow the rules will be warned. If you do not heed the warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be banned. More detailed explanations will be provided in the official rules posted at a later date. All bans between now and then will have a maximum duration of 30 days, and a minimum duration of 1 day. Duration will be decided by the staff member who issues it.

~ Appeals
At this time, no appeals will be accepted. All bans will be removed when the forums are officially launched. As of yet, this date has not been decided. (Sometime between now and January 2015)

Frequently Asked Questions:

~ Why was this forum created?
- I've been on dozens of popular forums with hundreds of thousands of users. The problem I keep seeing is that the administrators have too much on their hands, so bad eggs slip through pretty quickly. I want to have a place where my friends and I can discuss whatever we want without having to fear a warning/infraction/ban.

~ Why are there so few rules?
- As the title of this post clearly states, this is a temporary display of the rules, simply to ensure that all users know the basic expectations of them while here. More rules will exist once the forums officially launch.

~ Can anyone join?
- Of course! I made this forum primarily for myself and my friends, but all users are welcome!

~ What kind of things can I post?
- For now, you may post nearly anything you wish. However, pornographic or racist material will be deleted without exception. Keep it clean, friends!

~ What should I do if someone is breaking the rules?
- Simply report them to the staff. There is a button to use for reporting posts and private messages. After that, simply ignore the user. Please wait 24 hours before reporting the same user for the same offense. All reports will be dealt with in the order in which they were received, spamming reports is still spam, and users who spam are breaking the rules.

~ What is spam?
- Spam refers to posts or messages that have little to do with the topic at hand or repeated messages. Each case will be dealt with a case by case approach.

~ What if my question wasn't answered?
- Feel free to reply to this thread, or make a thread of your own, if you feel it would be more appropriate for the question.

Thank you for taking the time to read the temporary rules. As aforementioned, this post will be deleted at a later date and the official rules will have been posted by then.

Not gonna lie, this is a test post so I can edit my profile. Since there isn't a welcome section or really any other section yet.

So, Hi! It's Nicole! lol

Hmm, I didn't realize that I would have to approve posts. I'll have a look around and see about removing that feature, but that might have been because you were a Newly Registered Member (which locks a number of features, as you might guess)

I have a lot to learn about running a forum lol. Bear with me, friends!

Also, I'll go ahead and make an Introduction section, along with the other basic areas of the forum today, so we have some places to post!
